Nice melody's and transitions!

Start:

Melody of the piano at the start is a bit off key. Although I like the sequencer going on after the first cymbal crash. And the lead is quite strong which suits it really nice. Build to the main part was quite simple and basic but I am glad you did it instead of mashing up things over and over again. However I don't like the lead starting at 0:38 it's really piercing my ears, I suggest EQ-ing it would help allot, put a soft clipper on it if it's still too loud.

Breakdown till main:

At 1:34 I really liked the piano melody! It was really soothing. I didn't liked the beat over it though, I suggest making a pad over it would do an amazing job! And get rid of the beat at that part. The start of the lead again was also cool, again I'd reconmend to EQ that just a little bit, since that ones also quite piercing. Overall it was quite nice to listnen to, it didn't bored me. It slightly let my foot tap on the floor, so I guess you did an great job.

5/5 9/10 - Keep it up at making tracks it will improve your skills and enhance your knowledge about creating it. And don't forget; Always experiment on new things!

Better late than never!

Hey man, long time since I've brought you a review so here it is!

Got to say you do good in this style the DNB side, never knew you where into this.
Oh and yeah I followed up your order, I have listnened to Black sun empire. Got to say yeah that's prety sweet. ;) Anyways let's cut to the chase and review haha.

Intro:
Great effects in the intro, to spice things up alittle and letting you to get into the dnb feeling. Mashing those beats together was really nice.

Build up to main piece:
Prety simple you kept it with a snare and kick and later on a hi-hat. Loving that bass thing that came in at: 1:08.

Main piece:
More instruments = more fun! :D it's great you sometimes play with the snare in the beat and specially the hi-hats. Still the same beat over and over again though, perhaps some changes would do great?

Breakdown:
SWEET!!! It's almost like all the beat where drowned, and that pad over it is really sick! The comeback to the main part again was really good! big props for that. It was an really unique feeling. Lol I am getting down to this beat now I gues.

Ending:
Speeding things up alittle and letting things fade out was a really cool thing to do, it actually invited me to start over and listnen this piece again. Well thought out track mate. You deserve some props for it. ;)

My personal preference:
Make things more variating, specially in the beat! You did great with diffrent effects and stuff that was neat. And aswell perhaps use diffrent instruments, and let things mix into together. I can't really say something to improve on since I am not an big listner of DNB altough I can say what I would like to be changed, and that's my biggest problem described above: (variation). I guess that's the most difficult part in creating a track/song in all kinds of genres.

Well anyways, good luck on further producing. We'll speak again someday. ;)
Take care mate.

PeckaPrime responds:

Wow man, this has to be the best review i've had in a while :D,
Long, in detail, polite not to offend my ego XD,

yeah man thanks for the vote and review, this song sure needs this, it's so barren and empty here :D, barely anyone checked this piece out, and alot of those that did just voted zero.

Well i'll still probably make D'nB in the future, im really into it lately. And i agree with the lack of variation man, like i said im still not happy with this one, I don't really even like the beat that much, it needs some more punch, another kick or something, i've been playing with that alot, but it didn't come out so good.

I need more experience i guess, learn new stuff, but you know, i'll move on for now. Just don't know when, cuz im lazy ;)

anyway, thanks, i appreciate it man.
Have fun, and I'll definetely see ya :D

Sweet!

Great random parts, you should do that more often. :D

Loved every part from this 'mess arround'. Only I suggest make a full track out of one of those melody's, I say start with the part at 00:25. Because that one is really nice! The only thing I would like to see in the finished part is better mixing, because everything is extreme loud. Hardstyle is not only being loud lol, you can make an soft hardstyle track as well. ;) And some points clash as well, so better fix that.

Overall, really nice begin to start up an really wicked track! Pm me whenever you make a full HS track. ;)

Bass sucktion! :3

First things first the,

Intro:
Great start with an DNB loop, and letting the bass coming in, loved the stutter in it, and the cut off effect. Awesome saws and stabs from the Fx's. Loved the claps which brought the main piece alive the same with the snares.

Main piece:
Nice buzzy electro lead, and that kick is really sweet! And damn! That breakdown part was really nice, nothing to complain about. I love the melody it goes really well with the kicks and other effects. The choir/pad is also really nice, makes this song really mystical.

End:
Great transitions all the way in the song, specially near the end with cutting of the melody and snapping out some of the instruments. And letting that snare coming back was an really good idea. This is really an good track, I only missed some mixing effects like reeverb on the leads and some delay, that makes hardstyle really wicked. Perhaps the lead could be a little bit louder, so it gives this track an bit more power.

Overall an nice and well deserved track.

I've got vocals...

Yeah want you to tell, I do got some vocals in diffrent styles all female though.
Not long ones the longest one I have is 33sec, and the shortest is about 12 sec.
If interested you can PM me.

About the track;

Intro:

Great beginning with an cut off melody and letting the beat slowly progress.
Not much to tell on it's prety simple.

Main piece:

Not much variation between the intro sound and the main sound, altough that piano play is lovely! And that sweet beat pounds great over it, the beat fits perfectly on this style. God! I loved 2:55 amazing comeback on the melody, that's the way I like trance good job! The only thing I missed was a pad going on with the melody, which is kind of a sad point because a pad depends most of the mood going on in a song. The melody is uplifting and energetic, and the piano is ambient with an mystical side twist to it works perfect together! At 4:43 There starts to blend in what I call an tetris lead, makes things even nicer only it's an shame that that little variation only started to pop up near the end.

Ending:

Nice ambient ending with fading out of instruments, and melody's. Kind of loved the fact the piano stopped just a sec before the end and came back in.

You get my 5/5 and 9/10, I loved this trancy piece.

DjYeoh responds:

Thanks!!! can you like send me some vocals pls?

Finally the hardstyle piece!

First of all, I love the intro feeling classical with an dark atmosphere created by the strings at the background, continueing whilst there is starting a heavy lead to blast. :D Loving the melody, it's really awesome fits hardstyle at it's max. Only hoped that the kicks would be pushed in earlier aprox arround (1:01) Because it gets an really empty feeling at that point. Perhaps something else would fit in nice too pad/bass/arp or alike. :) It's up to you, I know you always got some great tricks to finish this up it alwas gets better and better.

Mix performance:
Damn that piano is hot! Crystal clear, and those strings in the background got blended away perfect! Kick+bass is really perfect for this style, it's not blowing away everything but it's still pumping and loud and that's just the way a kick should be. You did some great mixing here so far. I would only suggest make the kick+lead a little bit louder or more pounding, it's a personal suggest though. I like loud leads and kicks in hardstyle. ^^

So far so good for this demo this could be an hit just like The Beginning and I am not kidding. Keep it up and give it your own personal twist as always, then it's going to be mindblowing!

(sorry for this short review, I am always bad at demo's/Wip's) ;P
Be ready for a huge full devined review, when it's done. ;)

Dj-Brand0 responds:

Hey Ian :D

Glad you liked this. The dark atmosphere was what I was trying to get at here.
You said the kicks should have been pushed to about 1:01, I purposely made that section really empty because I wanted the lead to be the main focus.

Like first I had the classical instruments (pianos, pads, synths, etc) then I faded it out because the classical section left the song. Which then left an epic lead that dominates. I think with effects that fadeout would really be more obvious.

I tried adding a pad in the background but it didn't give the effect that i wanted. Even something as little as that behind lead at 1:13 changes the whole feel of the song. I hope you understand what I tried doing.

I'll retouch the leads and kicks again so it's fine when it's finished.

As I said in the description I think I'm finally getting the hang of mastering.
Since you said the piano sound so clear. :3

Thanks for the review, doesn't matter how long it is ;P

Gues you're lucky today boy!

I think you're getting rusty, since I have heared most of your hardstyle tracks. And no offence but this is wack compared to your others. I will explain why:

Intro:

Really gave me good expetations of the whole song with that lovely crystal clear harp. I thought the rest of the instruments would be that high quality too. Well it wasn't really. (see main melody).

Main melody:

As said that harp was just really sick, but gave me bad expetations. At 0:15 that choir pushed in, really what hardstyle is all about. Only I suggest making another orchestral synth next to it perhaps layered, to give it a richer and fuller sound. I loved how the kick came in so it could introduce the melody. For me the melody is fine I gues, only please change the lead. That's no hardstyle lead, more like a cutted off dance saw. You need to have a sharp edged piercing saw lead, and perhaps later that other lead afterwards for the ending. Because it's quite soft to start it for the main piece of the track. This lead didn't satisfied me to go wild and dance, more like 'oh this is it? Isn't there coming a giant pounding saw to blast my ears away?'. Well Please take this critism in your update because for me this was the most important part of the tracks.

Beat:

Really good, and well structured. Loving the snare and claps, altough they're quite a bit on low volume and they're not that beefy as always. For the kick, I see you put allot on effort creating it, but you must know if a kick isn't working in a hardstyle track you better create a new one because a kick is everything in a hardstyle song it's the key element if it doesn't works your track will not work.
I suggest for the kick only, make it harder more solid and slighty more pumping. I've a hardstyle kick for you I've made, I think you could use it in here fits perfectly. If you want it PM me and I will give you my contacting adress.

Builds: It's quite the same everytime, only at 1:36 it's changing in a more piercing lead, and slightly diffrent melody. and at 2:02 it's going in a down mood, I felt no uplifting onces. Which is not that bad at all you can make hardstyle with some 'depressed' sounds, but please I felt like this could use some more energy and uplifting spirit.

Ending: Really good you're starting back to that lovely harp and slowing it down with the beat so it ends real slow. My suggestion on that is let it fade out a little bit more, because it ended a bit to early. It stopped at 2:58 but that harp is still going on for my feeling till 3:05.

Don't take this critism to hard, it's just a little push over. Because I've seen you in a better state. I think the house killed it for you man. And that's a shame.
And like my title says: ' Gues you're lucky today boy! ' I will add you to my favorite artists.

Take care, and please follow atleast some advice I gave you for the next updated version.

Not depressing, only your comment is quite. :O

So far so good, is what I can tell.
The melodies could be a little bit more uplifting and faster though. Also that kick and clap intro thing. IMO You got to make variation in it like: Kick...clap...kick...clap...kick+Kick ...clap and so on. There's a bunch you can do with it. Specially with those strong kicks they're awesome! You're effects are placed at the right spot, they make it energetic, would be greater with faster and little bit more uplifting melo's like said before. I suggest making a layered lead, this one sounds a bit lonely. And make a pad + bass if you're going to finish these melodies. I can't really review this because for me it just sounds like a big intro.. and it needs allot more than that.

4/5 8/10 - finish these melodies and create a full track with it, I am sure it will be really good.

Should name it: Fresh Start

Playing with sequencers is a good thing altough it's quite basic. I see you used them in the intro, streching a whole bar won't help you learn stuff. But I liked it in which order you putted them, it tells me you have rythm and a good feeling for music. Next time please try to create one your own. Just delay a lead allot and use a little bit reeverb.

I liked the melody you created, only it could be a little bit complexer. Try creating a bassline under it, and some sub notes above that just makes a melody really nice. I like the arp (as the melody itself). Could've used a little bit more power.

Lol you got to tell me how you did that effect at 0:24, I used to know it but I forgot. :D probably some sweep effect? :P

Just some other information, All I heared was a intro with a main melody and no breakdowns/build-ups nor a ending.

This is the order you made it: intro>Main>Fade out
This is the basic order is should be:
Intro>Build-up to the melody>Main>Extra build(positive one)>Breakdown>Ending.
And even then there's enough more extra's to get it filled.

I am not trying to piss you of with this review, I am only trying to give you a basic constructive review with some critism in my point of view.

Oh and yeah most important, I missed a beat! Kicks/cymbals/claps/snares.

nonetheless a good effort, I deffinately think you learned something when creating this song. It's a fresh start for you with this new plugin. ;)

Crakle responds:

The reason i dont have a breakdown is cuz its a wip. also i didnt improve the song . and the FX was something from Vanguard that i added in. i only used Vanguard. the melody wasnt complex though i couldnt think of how i could improve the melody . and then again with bassline i didnt creat it . Its a wip thats why i dont have the breakdown and stuff. I stretched the whole bar because i think it sounded better same goes for the order of the arp ;D. I did not add any filters . . I also have got no good kicks so i didnt add them in. Plus i am not very good with drum loops :P XD. there is no kicks in Vanguard i dont think. i wont continue it though. so i guess u can call it a loop anyways. thanks for the review. and the 8 including the 5. I will try to make more songs in the future. ;D
Thanks again!!

3 Feelings and genres, makes it amazing!

First I want to say, I always listen tracks like these one time before reviewing, and let it loop when I review to come up on conlusions.

And my first thing to say about the intro is:
When I first heared it, I already got a progressive feeling and really uplifting feeling, you did well in that. There's nothing wrong I can see so far in the intro it's really nice! Specially that high pitched note, give a great atmosphere.

Main theme:
Loving the cut off automations and the transitions, really well done. Digging those kicks that go on with the melody, which actually is something more to do for hardstyle/nu-style but fitted in this scenario as well. Makes things original I gues.
The hi hat is really well placed, fits the progressive theme well. And ofcourse the melody, made me speechless, it's those 3 genres in one (uplifting/progressive/futuristic) well done, you've improved much since I last visited your page, serves you well. ;) I hope you will do something with this talent.

For the climax starts at (1:06 till 2:00):
It's really cool you made it 1 minute long gives an nice vibe. I only would suggest you should make it more climatique, you did right with mashing up the melody till 2:00 and the kicks as well, but when it reached 2:00 it felt like the build up stopped to abdruptly I would give as advice; make reeverbed kicks, use the hi hats earlier, and make use of reverse kicks. Might also want to change something more with the melody at that point.

Breakdowns:
Nothing to tell about they're all nice, no problems noticed. :P

Ending:
Might be basic, but in this case it was sure epic lol, fitted this track absolutly perfect!

9/10 5/5

That's all for now mate, take care and don't give up on producing.

-Ian

D-Chain responds:

very very appreciate it ! ^^
im surely NOT done with this track yet i see now, and shall do my best at those pointers you gave and as far as i know, the qlimatique feeling wich SHOULD have to start to break-out at 2:00, isnt realy there, i figured it out just a moment ago :P
so that would mean i have to take your pointers and melt it into the track for the final version ^^
I also can do something with the melo at that point(already had something in mind)
Anyways, Thankyou :) just what i needed.

-Tim / T&T

Interested in creating Hardstyle lately, with some dance tracks. Also I am in for some more classical stuff like orchestra. Be sure to check some out! ;)
