Worthy intro

Must say this has potential!

Starts real smooth with the filters. it didn't drown out other sounds, so that went great!

Loved the acid feel with an sparkling synth connected with it!
I'm glad you did that, finally someone else who layers good.

Beat went as well real smooth, only let the kick be slightly more pumping. Add soundgoodizer put it on C or A depends on which sounds the best. And turn down the volume to 1/4. And add bassbooster, if it doesn't gives that thump you need. It sure does by then.

Add more effects, and might bass?
It feels rather empty. Though it has rich sounds.

Good effort there!
Finish this, and make a melody for it after the intro.
Surely going to be sweet!

Good luck!

Crakle responds:

It don't necessarily needs to be 'Harder'...

First of all, I had big expectations of it! And I know how hard it is to create a good hardstyle track. But this sounds just like Happy hardcore.

And this is why:

Intro:
Good piano, still an bit too uplifting though. Try some lower keys, and stick an pad to it. That makes it quite worthy. Loved the arp, and sequencer but that's just the same in what you hear in HHC tracks. It aint supposed to be there in hardstyle! It is possible in some parts, but better leave it out.

Build up with an melody/clap/snare w/e. And start of slow, you want the listners to be eager to hear what's up next! Get a strong kick that's quite beefy but most importants pounding with an reeverbed (no reverse like said below) bass.

Builds:
Some of them were nice and really flowing, that's an good hardstyle element!
But those vocals saying like; 'Disco record' and 'jump jump etc' Are not classified in the hardstyle roots. Get them out and build them with snares and claps combined, while the snare get's faster.

Main:
Get away with the open hats and some of the rides. They make it more suitable for dance. Same as your bass now, I think it's pitch down/up from nexus right?
Get a deep distorted one (not too much as in Hardcore). But still quite suitable, I reccon listnen to some proffesional artists like; Ran-D, Noisecontrollers etc.
As well for the leads they're way too sawish, it only needs one super fat saw in it combined with a piercing one! And if you want it not to be rough and tough insert a simple saw combined with plucks. Perhaps with a bell too (for the effect).

Build downs (breakdown):
Nothing compareable to hardstyle to be harsh. This fits more in the dance genre. And the crowd cheering is possible but it makes tracks like this so cliché. If you know what I mean.

Overall a good track, but for my oppinion not suitable in the hardstyle genre.
If you need some teaching or want more information you can pm me for my contact on msn/aim etc.

Mixing on the other hand was well done, as it could've used some little touches here and there. But for the most part it was flawless!

5/5 9/10 - Potential worthy track, if you want to make it into (real) hardstyle.
Keep up the work, you'll get there eventually.

-Ian

Rukkus responds:

WOw. Thanks for the amazing review man. All of these tips are extreemly helpful, but you are right when you say that this sounds more like a happy hardcore. Now that i look at it, i honestly confused my song between the two styles. SO when i finish it, ill name it Hardcore or something. and then ill try making a Hardstyles the proper way eventually.

Almost better

Take the reeverb off or lower it bro, it's overtaking the other sounds.
You could try Eq'ing it a bit more too, or drop one of the compressors on it.
This I meant for the lead.

Other than that, you inserted a better kick + bass. Which are way better than the previous ones. You lowered the claps volume, to put it a bit more in the background. Other than that it's still quite the same.

Nonetheless that, I like it. It certainly has some potential if you made a few sub melo's on top of that. It has some hardstylish roots, I'd say play in to that!

Potential worthy track!
5/5 10/10 - Just needs some round ups!

Dj-Brand0 responds:

Hey Ian. Thanks for the review!

About the lead, It's been sidechained to a kick so the kick would sound slightly overpowered, this is what I wanted but it never really works out since it makes it sound badly mastered. I suppose I should bring the lead out from the kick and bass to make it sound clearer...

Glad you liked the kick and bass, I really didn't like the ones I used previously, they didn't have any energy in them.

And yeah it is practically the same as the original because I haven't progressed it anymore than I did before, I've just remade it to potentially create a new song. I've got some sub melo's in mind.

Thanks again,

//Brando

You got some skills!

Seriously, I've been listning some of your tracks, and must say I'm impressed.
You make your tracks so full and rich of sound, I never get that 'full' 'fat' feeling in a track.

Builds were very exiting and uplifting, I loved every of them, and the panning was masterfull! No critsm only than mixing it a fair bit more. ;)

Good job, you got talent boy!

trancedatlantic responds:

thanks man. I try to mix alright but I made most of these songs on stock computer speakers or 20$ headphones.

Good transforming varieties would help allot!

Though using the same preset of the piano ain't working that well. And that's not just the worst. The worst part is it's an Fl studio preset piano! That one iritates me so bad! Please get nexus, and combine pop keys with netherworlds. That way it gets a more richer and fuller sound. This piano is way too tiny.

Enough said over the piano, I've heared as well simple presets all the way allong in your track. (example; Beat/Lead) I bet it was eurogate, though I am now sure. Try layering.*

Piano+Hip Hop beats always works REALLY well combined, though this track just needs a little bit of help. Use more varieties in beat and the transitions need some work too. Try Fx's.**

-Mixing- Try reeverb/delay on beats/leads whatsoever. Makes your track stand out allot more!

*(layering) Stacking up samples/presets or own created sounds on to eachother, to get diffrent sounds than others. This makes your track original and more worthy to listen too! It as well makes your beat/preset allot more powerfull/richer/crispier/pounding of sound.

** (Fx's) Effects, use wind fx to build in a new instrument or use reverse cymbals like a reverse crash. This only to build or make an note to listners there is going happen something!

To build down you could use a regular crash, or as well wind. But for the wind use one that goes from a fast rush to a slow and deep wind.

That what I told are just basics!
Keep them in mind for your next track!

If you need more info, or didn't get anything please PM me. I am here to help!

Very helpful review, very helpful.

Wow!

Serious DNB right there! O_O
Deep pounding kicks! Guitar finished it!

CeruleanSoldier responds:

Thanks man :]

Damnit got seriously downvoted!! >:O

Yep, got downvoted by the bombing squad. BOOM BOOM. :P Aw lol atleast I did +0.5 xD.

[Intro]:
Nice Bass, and DNB loops. That rap sounds really familliar yeah, though I forgot the name. Damn that name is so close in my brain, though I can't tell. :P Otherwise that, you sliced and trimmed that good. Nothing to complain there.

[Build]:
After that Fade when the soothing voxx came in. Damn That was really epic I can see this stuff right being played at party's, and the people waving with their hands. To eagerly wait for that heavy kick/bass to come again and go wild! Speeding up that synth afterwards worked also really well, kept me interested. You have a really unique style of making hardcore and that's such a good thing! Listning all the generic stuff all over again and again got bored.

[Main]:
Those are some crazy synths man! Lol, totally rad stuff there. Loving that kick and bass, it's indeed a diffrent one you regullary use. Serious part to go wild there on the dancefloor, though that weird vox kinda ruinded it sayin 'mindbust dreamer?' That one was near the build down.

[build off]:
Chilling transitions, fades nice.

[End]:
Good enough for this kind of style, though it could've been a tad more complex if you know what I mean. Heaping stuff up and making it faster works well for most people but you know I am picky. :P I'd love to see some kind of 2nd melo, or that soothing vocal to come in again, and scratched it out or something.

Nonetheless that, it's your track, and it's awesome.
Keep continueing this kind of Genre, you're doing great! You will be pro one day, and I'll be dancing on that greatness. ;)

Good quality stuff

To be honest I never thought rap would fit hardcore for almost the whole piece. But it did and I loved every bit of it.

[Intro]
Nice start with those rides, nice fast paced. :D
Loving those kicks for the intro, but you had to change it in a deep pounding one at the main piece. It was a bit to harsh and distorted, it's also the kick I hear in every of your hardcore tracks. I can make you a good hardcore kick if you'd like.

[Build]:
Loving those lyrics lol from lil wayne and birdman. Nice transitioning towards it.

[Main]:
God I love that piano! and those clapping are really epic! Same as how you frequenced that melody, damn! So swift! I must say this one fitted quite good for this track. I also see you've changed it a tad, and must say in a good way. It's more energetic and cleaner, fitted good!

[Build-off towards end]:
Fast transitioning man lol, clean and nice. Though I loved a slow one there, it's just a tad too abdrupt. Since this track has allot of soothing and calming bits it also has some really fast spaced pieces inbetween, I must you say you combined it really good.

As far it goes for originality; a new kick/bass.
Structure: Well done, only keep an eye out for the transitioning.
Quality: 100% perfect, no clippings whatsoever.

Good luck on your further progress.

Ps: Next time we should start an new collab and share the flp over and over, and see what comes out. ;) Let those 2 styles mix inbetween I am eagerly to know how it would come out. :D

CeruleanSoldier responds:

[Intro]
Haha believe it or not, I am actually changing my kicks and I have hundreds of kick samples but I just really love this kind of heavy obliterating bass. But you're right, I should be using a lot more variety. And the short kicks I use for the wind up in the beginning are exactly the same as the ones you hear throughout the rest of the song, just the ones at the beginning cut off earlier.

[Build]:
Haha yeah first time using rap in my songs.

[Main]:
Haha you always love the piano dont you? And yeah I changed it a bit to make it more "hardcore suitable" and also so even out the measures a bit, but the rest is completely yours.

[Build-off towards end]:
Yeah I definitely still do need work on my transitioning. Gotta listen to a few more songs and pay careful attention to how they do it.

As far it goes for originality;WORKING ON IT Dx
Structure: Also working on it :S
Quality: YEEEEEEW

And I don't compose my songs in FL so it wouldnt work. I only uuse FL to create tunes, then I export them to Sony ACID Music Studio to piece it all together so it probably wouldnt work. I'm sure we'll figure something though!

Thanks AGAIN for the crazy in-depth review :]

So uplifting! :O

Wow! That's the most uplifting piece I've ever heard!
And that bass! OMG I want that bass! :3

All it needs it some slightly mixing, than it'll be done and AWESOME!

Cheers,

Merry X-mas

-Ian

Chimy727 responds:

wow glad you like it!
thanks!
and merry christmas to you as well!

Interested in creating Hardstyle lately, with some dance tracks. Also I am in for some more classical stuff like orchestra. Be sure to check some out! ;)
